Nariño Weaving

Sandoná in the mountainous region of Nariño in SW Colombia is known for weaving the fibres of the native Toquila palm, traditionally used to make Panama Hats.

This artisan tradition has been handed down through generations of women who gather together to work in shared spaces.

With fibre hand dyed in vibrant colours these items are expertly worked as a true expression of the regions culture and identity.
